Harbour Towne Counseling and Psychiatry, PLLC. offers nasal esketamine (Spravato®) as an evidence-based treatment option for adults with treatment-resistant depression who have not experienced adequate relief from traditional antidepressant medications.
Nasal esketamine works differently than standard antidepressants by targeting the brain’s glutamate system, which plays a key role in mood regulation. Many patients experience more rapid improvement in depressive symptoms, including reductions in hopelessness and suicidal thoughts, when esketamine is used alone or in combination with an oral antidepressant.
Treatment is provided in a safe, structured, and supportive clinical setting in accordance with the FDA-mandated REMS program. Patients self-administer the nasal medication under medical supervision and are monitored on site for a minimum of two hours to ensure safety and comfort. Our experienced clinical team closely evaluates each patient to determine appropriateness for treatment and provides ongoing monitoring throughout the course of care.
